Iconic high-rise Aquarius has management rights sold in record $7m deal
Belmo Group has taken over management of Aquarius on the Beach, Townsville's iconic Strand high-rise, after a record $7 million rights sale, the city's largest ever for a single property. ResortBrokers brokered the deal, citing strong demand and an 87% occupancy rate. A fixture since the early '70s, Aquarius remains the Strand's only short-stay high-rise.

Belmo Group expands into Hunter Valley with landmark luxury hotel management appointment
Brisbane-based Belmo Group has secured the management contract for Laval, a new luxury hotel and wellness destination opening in the Hunter Valley in 2027. Set on the 165-acre Ben Ean Estate in Pokolbin, it will feature 65 rooms, a thermal spa, a Mediterranean restaurant and event space for 150 guests. CEO David Assef called it a once-in-a-generation property, with Belmo managing all operations.

$130m Laval resort to push NSW’s Hunter Valley on the global map
HVL Hotels is set to open a landmark luxury resort on the historic Lindeman Estate in Pokolbin, Hunter Valley, the first new project of this scale in the region in two decades. It will feature 65 pavilion-style villas, a culinary program led by chef Justin North, a longevity spa, and a major collection of Gillie and Marc artworks. Managed by Belmo Group, the resort opens in the second half of 2027

Belmo Group has acquired management of Brisbane's heritage-listed Royal Albert Hotel, a 73-key boutique property on Albert Street that first opened in 1913. CEO David Assef cited Brisbane's ongoing transformation — including Queen's Wharf, the new Cross River Rail station, and the 2032 Olympics — as key reasons the property is well-placed for long-term growth.
